New Self-Guided Class Starts Today: "31 Days, 31 Revision Prompts"
All month long, join us at your own pace to develop a full suite of tools that will allow you to polish and perfect your first-person writing.
It’s the one phrase that strikes fear in the hearts of every writer: It’s time to revise your work.
But second, third and final drafts don’t have to be a drag. Dare I say it, they can even be fun! And this October is the time to learn how. Today’s the first day of “31 Days, 31 Revision Prompts: A Month of Self-Editing Your Essays,” a self-guided class developed by Narratively Chief Submissions Reader Amy Barnes.
Every day of October, you’ll receive a short reading and an excercise from Amy, each one designed to help you polish your drafts, whether you wrote them last week or years ago. You can go at your own pace, participating as many days as you’re able to and sharing your work with others for constructive feedback, or just writing and editing on your own. All together, the 31 days will give you new tools to add depth and background, make your narration shine, be more active with your word choices — in short, take what you’ve already written and prepare it for potential publication.
“31 Days, 31 Revision Prompts” is off to the races today, but we’re keeping registration open so that if anyone wants to join today or tomorrow, you can jump in and get started as soon as you’re ready.
