Engaging, clever, funny, touching… These are just some of the words I would use to describe hit narrative podcast Heavyweight, which has been paused for a bit while they searched for a new home. What I’ve been thinking about lately, as I’ve been diving deep into their encore episodes — the handful of best-ofs they’ve recently been re-releasing with updates — is how they do it exactly. I have a few sneaking suspicions: The stories they tell are relatable, the staff’s charming personalities always come through in the storytelling, they shine a light on important subject matter that’s not always easy to talk about… But even after speaking to them pre-hiatus, I still have some questions about all of this.
